Sanaruska is a wonderful place in the low Vosges Mountains. It is quiet and green, ideal to relax and (further) develop your creativity. You can lie in a hammock among the birds by the stream, walk or meditate in our own forest or the surroundings, follow courses and workshops or attend an event.

At Sanaruska, a lot is allowed and little is required. It is a place for those who prefer nature and silence to luxury and hassle. Do not expect tight programs or complicated methods, but come to yourself and make use of what Sanaruska has to offer.

The grounds include a 600-meter driveway and a private 2.5-acre forest. Surrounding the property is a yard for great outdoor drinks and food, an outdoor theater, a spa, a bocce court and a nice lounge area. In the vegetable garden we grow all kinds of honest, delicious and healthy vegetables and herbs. The nettles, dandelions, edible flowers and plants and even the Japanese knotweed are used for fiber, pies, soups, juices and so on.

The building is an old sanatorium, but actually a préventorium, an institution where children from the big city (Paris) spent summers because the air in the wooded hills is good for the lungs. Thus, the children were prevented from developing tuberculosis or other lung diseases. The building now houses a studio, a studio, an apartment, a central kitchen/living area and several rooms.
